Nanto Cleantech new partnership: ReSiSTant

January 2018 – Nanto Cleantech Is Ltd, the participant company of Nanto Cleantech Inc, is partner with its new smart materials based on nanotechnologies of the new project ReSiSTant under the Horizon 2020, the biggest EU Research and Innovation programme ever with nearly €80 billion of funding available over 7 years (2014 to 2020). Horizon 2020 will help to achieve smart, sustainable and inclusive economic growth. The goal is to ensure Europe produces world-class science and technology, removes barriers to innovation and makes it easier for the public and private sectors to work together in delivering solutions to big challenges facing our society.

ReSiSTant” project is part of the “Nanotechnologies, advanced materials, advanced manufacturing and processing, and biotechnology” section. Particularly, the project concerns the production of large riblet surface with super hardness, mechanical and temperature resistance by nano functionalization. ReSiSTant targets the optimization of two industrial pilot lines by using micro- and nanostructured surfaces for drag reduction. The objectives are to implement new developed surfaces into the Aircraft Turbofan Engines and into the Industrial Compressors. Positive effects by usage of such surface could give benefits in terms of efficiency, CO2 reduction and noise emission and further on a positive economical and ecological impact.

This challenging project involve a great partner network, including important names such as General Electric, Lufthansa and Man and aim to the affirmation of new disruptive technologies.

Nanto takes part to the project with its new smart materials and outstanding technologies. The company, constantly investing in R&D, boasts worldwide patents based on nanotechnologies and advanced materials. Nanto’s large patent portfolio counts currently 150 patents all over the world.
