Nanto Cleantech developed a biocide-free technology for antifouling applications
Washington, June 29, 2018 – The 27th World Gas Conference (WGC) 2018 that has taken place this year in Washington, from 25th to 29th June, is the largest global gas conference. The event is organized every three years and is the most important event that gathers influential leaders, policy makers, buyers, sellers and experts.
This year Nanto Cleantech has been selected to give a presentation about “Nano Enhanced Multifunctional Coating Systems”, that has been delivered on 28th June within the “what’s hot in gas research – upstream applications and gas infrastructure” session of the Technical and Innovation Center. The Moderator of the session has been Kristin Skofteland, Director Strategy & Business at Total. Nanto Cleantech CEO Roberto Cafagna described the company and its patented nanotechnologies that can be applied to improve performances of multifunctional coatings and polymers for different kind of applications. In particular, Mr. Cafagna has explained the technology developed for internal and external lining of pipelines, for corrosion protection, reinforcement and also for a reduction of friction, thanks to superhydrophobic features obtained.
Nanto Cleantech also presented the projects in which the company is involved, in particular ReSiSTant, a project started last January, funded under Horizon 2020 research and innovatio programme. The project aim is to implement new developed micro- and nanostructured surfaces for drag reduction, into Aircraft Turbofan Engines and Industrial Compressors.
The same day Nanto Cleantech has also been awarded with an Innovation Award for “Gas Transmission, Processing and Storage” that has been received by CEO Roberto Cafagna, after a brief presentation of the innovative technology above mentioned, in a dedicated session.
The technology is based on nanoparticles functionalization and incorporation in polymeric matrices, which allow to obtain multifunctional coatings with increased durability in terms of service time thus preserving the characteristics and physical properties of the raw materials, with cost effective process.
Nanto Cleantech technology is a green technology for the product and the process. The dispersion of the specially treated nanoparticles allows to reduce and replace toxic additives and the production process is based on water, with 90% recycling and low temperature operation.
The company is proud that its technologies have been recognized with an award by the global gas community.
